چکیده
Any new deployment of networks in the industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band, even though it is license-free, has to co-exist with IEEE 802.11 networks. IoT devices are typically deployed ISM creating a spectrum bottleneck for competing This paper investigates issue co-existence wireless WiFi In our scenario, we consider as “primary” or higher priority network co-existing multiple “secondary” that may be used low devices, both operating band. Towards this end, first develop an analytical model metric called “received symbol distance” at primary receiver obtain power control parameter secondary users. scale user according channel between transmitter receiver. The proposed approach computationally simple does not require any estimation coefficients. Simulation results show technique can effectively increase utilization probability successful transmission by user, while having harmful effect on user.

Susceptibility of IEEE 802.11n networks to adjacent-channel interference in the 2.4GHz ISM band
This paper is a practical analysis of effects of mutual interference between Wi-Fi networks that operate in the same area using the newest IEEE 802.11n standard exclusively and also in coexistence with older 802.11 standards. Presented experiments show how this interference deteriorates the network throughput. The obtained results can be used for designing new WLANs and for development of the e...
متن کاملSpectrum Utilization and Congestion of IEEE 802.11 Networks in the 2.4 GHz ISM Band
Wi-Fi technology, plays a major role in society thanks to its widespread availability, ease of use and low cost. To assure its long term viability in terms of capacity and ability to share the spectrum efficiently, it is of paramount to study the spectrum utilization and congestion mechanisms in live environments. In this paper the service level in the 2.4 GHz ISM band is investigated with focu...
متن کاملSpectrum Usage Estimation and Channel Allocation in IEEE 802.22 Networks∗
In this paper, we propose and evaluate a novel spectrum usage estimation methodology for IEEE 802.22 networks and use that to efficiently allocate data channels to consumer premise equipments (CPEs). We specifically analyze the problem of estimating the spectrum usage report at any arbitrary CPE location. A base station (BS) achieves this by opportunistically sharing and fusing the raw spectrum...
متن کاملCoexistence of Collocated IEEE 802.11 and Bluetooth Technologies in 2.4 GHz ISM Band
In this paper, we investigate coexistence of collocated 802.11 and Bluetooth technologies in 2.4 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band. To that end, we show a time division multiplexing approach suffers from the “avalanche effect”. We then provide remedies to avoid this effect and improve the performance of the overall network. For example, it is shown that a simple request-to-send...
متن کاملFDTD Modeling and Characterization of the Indoor Radio Propagation Channel in the 434 MHz ISM band
In this paper the fundamental aspects of indoor radio propagation are presented and the possibility to characterize a dynamic channel by means of a static model based on the Finite Difference Time Domain method (FDTD) is examined. A 3D office environment is simulated in the 434 MHz ISM band for the characterization of channel operation according to the dominating distortions. The obtained resul...
